As long-standing members of the HLA2 community know, our current site on Stillwell Avenue is too small for our school’s growing needs. In fact, it was never intended to be occupied by us for more than a few years.
We had plans to build a permanent home for HLA2 on Kings Highway. A number of things went wrong with that project, including the bankruptcy of the construction company and the start of the pandemic. In late spring of 2020, the Kings Highway project was ended.
The good news is that we have entered into an agreement for the construction of a new home for our school at 2286 Cropsey Avenue. This new building, which is currently under construction, will be a 23-story mixed-use building. It is located less than a mile from our current location. It is close to the subway, and only three blocks away from Bensonhurst Park.
We expect to be occupying the new building in time for the start of the 2022-23 school year.
